Easy-to-Use Options API
Theme Authors can add and remove options at will with our easy-to-use Options API. No complex programming required.
Customize your site by uploading your own logo and favicon. You can also select your navigation menus here. StartBox fully supports the custom menus introduced in WordPress 3.0.
Content and Layout Settings
StartBox gives you several controls for how content should appear on your homepage and interior pages. Specify page layout, where to display post navigation, what meta information to include and more.
It’s your site, so you should be allowed to choose what the footer says. Toggle on/off copyright information, design credits, and even include custom text.

Analytics and Feedburner Settings

Plenty of Shortcodes
StartBox has loads of shortcodes to make it as easy as possible for you to style and organize your content. These shortcodes help you insert buttons, info boxes, social media badges, columns and more without ever leaving the visual content editor.
Custom Sidebars
In version 2.5, StartBox introduced the ability to register custom sidebars from within the WordPress dashboard. This makes it possible for users to create as many unique sidebars as they might need and provides the opportunity to replace particular sidebars on any given page, post type, tag, category or other custom taxonomy. Sidebars can also be called into any content now via a custom shortcode.
Very Widget Friendly
StartBox currently comes with five custom widgets. Each widget uses the standard WordPress Widget API so you can use each as many times as you want. You will find these under Appearance > Widgets.
SB Search
Replaces the default search widget allowing you to specify default search text and button text.
SB Social
Provides a convenient list of all social profiles with their icons. Links are only displayed if address is provided. You can choose to display the links as icon-only, text-only or both. Currently the widget supports RSS Feeds, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Vimeo, LinkedIn, Flickr, and Digg.
SB Featured Content
A highly configurable way to highlight content on your site. Select between pages or posts (and soon, custom post types). Advanced settings are hidden until you need them making it very quick and painless to use this widget. Selectively display post title, author, date, categories, excerpt, content, photo and more.
SB Slideshow
Easily display one of your Custom Slideshows in a widget area.
SB Tag Cloud
Replaces the default Tag Cloud widget with one that is actually configurable. Take control over tag size, count, order, formatting and more.
Easy to Customize
StartBox is extremely easy to customize via Child Themes. In fact, StartBox comes with a blank child theme, dummy content and an Out-of-the-Box guide to make rapid development even faster.
StartBox uses modular scripts and stylesheets (so you only include the ones you need) and a dynamic CSS class structure (so you transform the look without changing the markup) and has over 50 hooks and filters (so you can inject any kind of code wherever you need it). Combine that with the easy-to-use Options API and you’re golden!
